36ff45cc17 Revert "fontaliases: revise fonts.alias for UTF-8 to display"
This reverts commit a976460e59.

This just does not look as good, and the fonts appear too tiny. It
needs more work, andshould support all OS's since they pretty much (at
least with the linuxen and bsd's) all use the same fonts and X servers.

be6bc0aa54 Remove some unused imake *.tmpl files
We still keep some of them for doc/ and dtinfo until those are
building properly.

1b5d18f604 fontaliases: redo the way these are built, and actually install them
Use a common make include file to do most of the work and set the
appropriate LANG from localized/templates/ . This should simplify it
quite a bit and reduce duplication.

Also we were not even installing them, so now we are.

8f7c874ba0 fontaliases: use copy rather than symlink since bdftopcf can't handle those
bdftopcf specifically will not read symbolic links. This causes it to
fail when creating the programs/fontaliases/*/C/dtinfo.pcf.Z file and
subsequently, the fonts.dir file.

So, we add a new Imake macro: CopySourceFile(), to copy rather than
symlink the dtinfo.bdf file so these operations can complete
successfully. The dtinfo.bdf file is only 5KB, so there's very little
impact having an extra copy created during a build.

b92cf08899 Adobe Helvetica as -dt-interface system-
Use Adobe Helvetica as the sans serif user
interface font (among others, dtlogin, front
panel buttons, menu titles) instead of Lucida.

While there, move X Consortium comment back
to the top.

This change applies only to FreeBSD.

e7cb79e9b2 Corrected font aliases for "-b&h-lucidasans" on FreeBSD.
The following patch gets the Lucida Sans font working on my FreeBSD system. Before applying this, title bars and menu bars are displayed in the "-misc-fixed" font. This is on FreeBSD 9.0-RELEASE-p3.

0fccc33b17 Provide basic font aliases for FreeBSD
The following font families
(or their aliases) will be used:

-adobe-courier-bold-o-normal--*-
-adobe-courier-bold-r-normal--*-
-adobe-courier-medium-o-normal--*-
-adobe-courier-medium-r-normal--*-
-adobe-helvetica-bold-o-normal--*-
-adobe-helvetica-bold-r-normal--*-
-adobe-helvetica-medium-o-normal--*-
-adobe-helvetica-medium-r-normal--*-
-adobe-symbol-medium-r-normal--*-
-adobe-times-bold-i-normal--*-
-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--*-
-adobe-times-medium-i-normal--*-
-adobe-times-medium-r-normal--*-
-b&h-lucidasans-medium-r-normal-sans-*-
-b&h-lucidatypewriter-bold-r-normal-sans-*-
-b&h-lucidatypewriter-medium-r-normal-sans-*-

The files will be installed in

/usr/dt/config/xfonts/C

This directory should be added to the
X server font path:

   xset fp+ /usr/dt/config/xfonts/C

and/or via

   FontPath "/usr/dt/config/xfonts/C"

in the "Files" section of the xorg.conf file.

8f6700b0d9 fontaliases: add more robust font.aliases file.
Note, this requires that the xfonts-100dpi and
xfonts-100dpi-transcode[d] packages be installed. Kubuntu 11.10 calls
the transcoded package 'xfonts-100dpi-transcoded' while 12.04 calls it
'xfonts-100dpi-transcode'

You can also use the 75dpi variants if you wish, though they will look
crappy on larger monitors (>1024x768).

ba54c6271b Add fontaliases/linux/ dir, and appropriate entries in the CDE-FONT.udb database.
Note, these still aren't quie working yet. Notably, font.dir needs to
be generated properly and re-committed so they will be used.
mkfontdir is used to do this, but currently it fails on these
font.alias files (does not recognize them).
