Select a palette from the Palettes list. Click OK. Desktop colors come from predefined color palettes. If you have a default palette (one of the palettes provided with the Desktop) selected, you may want to copy it. (See .) This ensures that you can return to the original settings of the default palette if necessary. Click the Style Manager Color control. Select a palette in the Color dialog box. Double-click a color button to open the Modify Color dialog box. &newline;Or, click a color button, then click Modify. Adjust the settings in the Modify Color dialog box. Click OK in the Modify Color dialog box. Repeat steps 2-4 to modify another color button. Click OK in the Color dialog box. The grab pointer appears. Move the pointer to an area of color on the workspace that you want to grab. Click OK to make that color the New color. Choose Add in the Color dialog box. Type the new palette in the New Palette field. Click OK in the Add Palette dialog box. Click Modify and modify the palette (See .) Click OK in the Color dialog box. Adding a palette makes a copy of the currently selected palette and gives the copy a unique name. You then modify the copy, keeping the original palette intact. To Restore a Deleted Palette palette: restoring deleted restoring: deleted palette Open a File Manager view of the showing HomeDirectory/.dt/palettes folder. For system palettes, remove the file ~PaletteName.dp. For user added palettes, rename the deleted palette from ~PaletteName.dp to PaletteName.dp. Restart Style Manager (close, then reopen). When you delete a palette, Style Manager places a copy of the palette in the .dt/palettes subfolder in your home folder. The file name of this copy begins with ~. Choose Number of Colors in the Color dialog box. Select a color use option to set the number of colors used in the desktop. (See for information on how the desktop uses colors.) Click OK in the Number of Colors dialog box. Click OK in the Color dialog box. You must log out and log back in before this change takes effect. Select Transparent Lock if you do not want a background displayed when you lock your screen. If you select more than one background, they will cycle in the order in which they appear in the list. If you selected more that one background, set the number of minutes each background should run before the next one starts by sliding the Time For Background gauge. A setting of 0 means that only the last selected background (displaying in the preview area) will be used. Click OK.
