+- First tag the release, say 2.2.0c
+
+git archive -o /tmp/cde-src-[version tag].tar.gz [version tag] \
+    --prefix cde-[version tag]/

+where [version tag] is something like 2.2.0c

+Then push the tag:
+
+     git push --tags
